How to calculate your life path number

Add together every digit of your full date of birth, then keep adding the digits of the result until you are left with a single number, stopping only if you reach a master number (11, 22 or 33). For example, 14 February 1990 gives 1+4+2+1+9+9+0 = 26, and 2+6 = 8, so that is a life path 8. The calculator above does this for you and keeps master numbers intact.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate my life path number?

Add up every digit of your full birth date (day, month and year), then keep reducing until you reach a single digit, except for the master numbers 11, 22 and 33, which are kept as they are. For example 14/02/1990 is 1+4+2+1+9+9+0 = 26, then 2+6 = 8.

What are master numbers?

11, 22 and 33. They are not reduced to a single digit because they are seen as more intense, higher-potential versions of 2, 4 and 6. They are also the least common results.

Which life path numbers are most compatible?

As a loose guide, the practical 4 and 8 suit each other, the free-spirited 3, 5 and 7 group well, and the caring 2, 6 and 9 blend nicely. Compatibility here is a prompt for reflection, not a rule.

What is the rarest life path number?

The master numbers, especially 33, are the least common. Among the single digits the results are fairly evenly spread, with 9 often cited as slightly less common.

Is numerology real?

Numerology is a belief system, not a science. Treat your life path number as a fun starting point for self-reflection rather than a prediction of the future.

Where this comes from. The life path and expression numbers on this page follow the modern Pythagorean system, which is the one nearly every numerology book uses, so the numbers here will match what you read elsewhere. Treat it as something to think with rather than a forecast.
